Holiday 2013 Camera Recommendations!

Are you looking to purchase a camera this holiday season?  Here are my recommendations!

I'm a canon guy so I'm only recommending canon.  But other brands of cameras work well too.  Click here to see Amazon's top selling cameras.

The canon sx280 is selling for around $200.  

It's 12 megapixels, it's lens' wide angle is 25mm which will be great for your at arms length selfies and zooms in 20x which is quite a zoom.  It also has image stabilization which will help keep your photos sharp if you're utilizing this cameras zoom to its fullest.

The canon s120 is selling for around $429.  

I owned the canon s100 for a while and was really happy with it.  You can shoot in raw format, and also have controls over the shutter speed and aperture.  It also has a much better lens.  You're trading in all of those features for less zoom.  

If you're looking for an SLR the Canon SL1 with a kit lens is going for a little over $200 more than the canon s120.  So you're going to pay $649 to get the camera and an 18-55mm lens.  

The option of detachable lenses, 18 megapixels, and all the benefits of a SLR.  A great first SLR.  It's also smaller than other canon SLRs  which is nice!  

A mid range SLR.  Canon's 70d.  The price jump is quite a bit at $1500 but you'll get a much better lens as well.  My first digital SLR was a 20d so it was in this series, and I loved it.
